Compiling/Building wallet/daemon for Linux (Ubuntu/Debian)

Building the QT wallet and/or daemon for Ubuntu 16.04 LTS per following instructions:

First do a fresh install of Xubuntu 16.04 LTS version.

Then update and install some packages:

#sudo apt-get update

#sudo apt-get dist-upgrade -y

#sudo apt-get install -y git

#git clone https://github.com/lomtax/digitalcoin.git

#cd digitalcoin

#sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin

#sudo apt-get update

#sudo apt-get install -y build-essential libtool autotools-dev autoconf pkg-config libssl-dev

#sudo apt-get install -y libboost-all-dev libdb4.8-dev libdb4.8++-dev libqt4-dev libprotobuf-dev protobuf-compiler

#./autogen.sh

#./configure

#make

Everything should go well now so we can install with

#sudo make install

start the QT client with

#digitalcoin-qt

or just the headless daemon with

#digitalcoind

For the daemon/ full node to run you have to have a config file in your home directory
Without the daemon will complain and hint you with two lines you need to add in the config file.
Copy these line and add them to the config file

# nano ~/.digitalcoin/digitalcoin.conf

Also add add the follwing lines

listen=1
server=1
daemon=1

Save the file and run the daemon again, it will start to catchup the blockchain.
This will take a long time (days..)

Check the progress by viewing or tailing the debug.log file
#tail -f ~/.digitalcoin/debug.log

Have fun :-)

Re: Compiling/Building wallet/daemon for Linux (Ubuntu/Debian)

I've been able to reproduce your error on a fresh Xubuntu LTS install and your patch worked very well.
It doesn't break any other builds, so your pull request is accepted.

Thank you very much, this kind of feedback is highly appreciated !
